about

In 1986 Oscar Smit (a music freak and journalist for the magazine VINYL) invited THE MISZ to contribute to his annual Christmas cassette. We used an audio recording of the famous "I Have a Dream" speech that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave during the Civil Rights rally in Washington D.C. on August 28, 1963.
After that speech, the young Bob Dylan sang A Pawn in Their Game, a song about the assassination of civil rights activist Medgar Evers.
We had injustice and racism then, in 1986, as we still have in 2017. It makes me feel ashamed and saddened, to the point of despair.
